As part of the code of conduct that all members commit to, both pet parents and sitters agree not to cancel a sit unless faced with extraordinary circumstances. This mutual agreement means it’s rare that sitters cancel. If they do, they must let you know as soon as possible and provide their reason.
If the reason for the cancellation is not for 'extraordinary circumstances' or if you feel the reason for this cancellation requires further investigation do just let us know. We have a duty to uphold our Code of Conduct for the benefit of all members and so we need to be made aware of situations like these.
If a sitter ever does cancel a sit, be sure to ‘unconfirm the sitter’ in your messages with them. Your dates will then be relisted and your listing will show at the top of relevant searches, which means other pet-loving members can see it and start applying.
Please note, you may need to unpause your dates which you can do by following the steps in this article - How do I pause/unpause my dates on my listing?
We also recommend exploring and reaching out to other sitters, as well as reconsidering members who have previously applied — their applications will still be in your inbox.
Your Membership Services team is also available to help so please get in touch.
