If a sitter applies to sit for you, we would always recommend that you open up a conversation with them and consider their application and speak with them further. You never know, but your perfect sitter might be the one who hasn't completed any sits yet and you could give them that first opportunity. 

You can always politely decline any sitter application that you don't believe is a right match for your sit. To do this you will need to go to your inbox and open your conversation with the sitter who's application you would like to decline. Above the conversation thread you will see the options to either accept or decline the invitation. You need to select on the 'decline' button to let the sitter know that their application has been unsuccessful. 

We would always recommend you send a courtesy decline message to the sitter and thank them for their application.

If you confirm a sitter via the platform, this will automatically decline other sitter applications you've received and notify them that your sit is no longer available. You may wish to still send them a personalised decline message as a courtesy.
