As part of the code of conduct that all members commit to, both pet parents and sitters agree not to cancel a sit unless faced with extraordinary circumstances. This mutual agreement means it’s rare that sitters cancel. If they do, they must let you know as soon as possible and provide their reason.
If the reason for the cancellation is not due to 'extraordinary circumstances' or if you feel the reason for this cancellation requires further investigation, just let us know. We have a duty to uphold our Code of Conduct for the benefit of all members and so we need to be made aware of situations like these.
If a sitter ever cancels a sit, be sure to ‘unconfirm' the sitter in your messages with them. Your dates will then be relisted and your listing will show up at the top of relevant searches, which means other pet-loving members can see it and start applying.
Trusted tip: We also recommend exploring and reaching out to other sitters, as well as reconsidering members who have previously applied; their applications will still be in your inbox.
